Tonight’s movie was Jigoku (1960), a movie about a guy who through causing a number of deaths-most of them not really his fault-winds up in Hell. Or rather in the eight different hells in Japanese mythology. It was bizarre and not at all what I thought that it would be.

Time for my updates!

Last night I trundled on, watching The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1924) so I could listen to people geek out on Random Number Generator. This movie wasn’t anything new, but enjoyable as always.

Tonight, I finished Kuroneko (1968) which was amazing. It reminded me so much of Beauty and the Beast (1946) in atmosphere and tone. ( Read more... )

After waking up from a heavy nap, I managed to climb out of bed so I could watch Get Out (2017) and The Evil of Frankenstein (1964).

I'd never actually seen Get Out although I'd heard all the buzz about it. It definitely has something to say about race relations in the US. Amazing movie and horrifying ( Read more... )
