k425 took us to eat in. After that, we walked to Walsden along the canal path, with hills all around covered in heather. Item and
youngbloke got on famously, playing horses and chatting about Moshi Monsters. We passed about fifty bazillion houses that I would have bought sight unseen, for their location alone.

I love that part of the world, its so obviously not a place that would ever have been densely populated if it wasn't for the industrial revolution and despite being quite full of people (not by SE England standards, of course) it still feels wild.

Then yes, definitely. There's even a steam railway, which we didn't get to fit in, and that goes to Haworth. We decided to save it for when Item is a bit older and might appreciate the literary connections.
Wild, yes, and unlike the scenery I'm used to from either Devon or Sussex. And - cliche alert - the people are friendly.
