Yeah, this made me laughLa la. I'm putting off watching the season finale of Torchwood. Not because I don't know what happens (I do) but because... now that I know what happens, it doesn't even seem all that exciting or horrible. I mean, come on. Everyone's making it out to be HORRIBLE and i honestly... don't think it's that bad. *shrugs* Maybe I' ( Read more... )

There had better be a second season. I don't know that i can live off just 8 eps. I mean, it'll be hard to maintain a fandom based on 8 eps, and I like playing with John's screwed up life. Will probably start working on fic involving Samantha this week because she's just too cool. Of course, ended up with Torchwood tonight because roommate was using the TV, so will have to watch NA online tomorrow or whenever they post. What's with this "Ianto knows everything" thing? Don't tell me - if it makes any sense (well, Torchwood sense, not actual sense), I'll find it out with future eps. Thank you so much for the downloads!

(oh, what's really bad is that one of the guys at work referred to USAID as "The Pit" and I got profoundly confused. One does not have meetings at FFN.)

How far have you gotten with the Torchwood downloads? I'm only asking because I just remembered I uploaded the slightly-corrupted copy of 2x04 Meat. (It plays in VLC but nothing else, so I'm downloading another copy in hopes of a better copy.)

The "Ianto knows everything" thing, um, it's just something he said in the Sleeper episode I think, but I don't think any of the other episodes fleshed it out any more.

I've downloaded through 2.03, watched through 2.02. (oh god, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is like the best episode ever.) I'll hold off on 2.04 until you replace.

Actually 2.03 is kinda fun too. :D I should be able to get 4 tonight.

I do hope New Amsterdam goes on for a while as it's a pretty good show. I won't be crushed if it goes, but it's definitely better than a lot of the stuff out there. So hopefully it gets a second season.

As for the Torchwood finale, I think the main reason it was so horrible is because I was totally not expecting it and because there was really no reason for it. I think it also depends on how fond you are of the characters involved.

Also, new Ianto's pink shirt theory: It's the one he keeps at the hub so he wears it whenever he spends the night there with Jack. y/n?

Yes but I'm sure he spends more time at the Hub with Jack than that. XD Unless he obsessively does his laundry.

I dunno, I wasn't that attached to the one and the other really should've gone because of that storyline from half the season ago.

The Torchwood finale is really worth watching. There are a few requisite this-script-was-penned-by-Chris-Chibnall plot holes, but overall it's good. Not the best of the season by any means, but a whole lot better than last season's finale. It resonates even if you know what happens ahead of time, and gives the people in question a chance to act their hearts out (and they do). That particular sequence is, I think, the show at its best-- more of an emotional punch than Torchwood has ever pulled off before.

So, you know, watch it.

There was a lot of fandom upheaval when it aired; I can imagine why you'd not want to, after all that.

Whee, Torchwood. ♥

XD I was in New York with a friend on Friday and we were discussing it. She's not a fan of Torchwood, but apparently someone on her f-list was emotionally traumatised by the whole episode.

I don't know, I think maybe fandom needs to stop being so attached to fictional telly characters?
