“Ianto, next right,” Ianto was running, his semi-automatic pointed into the darkness before him, “carry on to the end of the passage.”
Ianto knew this maze of corridors, passages, tunnels and rooms like the back of his hand, Lisa was hidden not too far from here, in fact he’d passed that staircase and doorway not too long ago. Thoughts like that however were pushed out of his mind as the ache in his legs grew.
Lights flashes and fluttered above him, he could tell that he was getting further away from the Hub as the lighting was fading and quite a lot of strip lights had burned out, leaving big spaces of black for Ianto to run through.
“She’s moving, you’re getting close, I think she may be able to hear you. Go left for now, you can double back if you have to.”
“Do you think she knows the tunnels?” Ianto replied, keeping his voice just above a whisper as he walked backwards along the joining corridor.
“I don’t know, from what I’ve gathered, she’s just running. Jack should be joining you soon, he’s reaching the last staircase now.”
“Ok, thanks Tosh.”
Ianto softly pushed on, running as lightly as he could as he gained closer to Rose. The rooms around him now, where just empty dust-filled spaces, yet to hold the precious alien artefacts that fall through the rift. Torchwood had prepared for ever eventuality, and carrying on throughout the ages was defiantly one of them.

Rose was lost. No doubt about that. Not even the fog had a clue. She had resorted to the old theory that you never get lost as long as you follow the wall on your left. Or was it right? Bugger, she thought.
As she reached another junction, she heard footsteps gaining on her. She stopped and turned around, they were defiantly coming from behind her.
Rose, don’t give up, there is a vast collection of tunnels, we can get out, trust me.
“I can’t do this anymore. We, I, can’t get out. Even if I do, they’ll find me. Chris won’t give up and Jack won’t either.”
Fine, but promise me, if we get found, let me talk to them. I may still be able to get us out.
“Still can’t get used to this.” Rose whispered as she walked a bit further, she’d given up with running.

“Toshiko, which way do I go?” Jack pressed his finger to his ear, pulling his Webley out of its holster.
“I’d say the opposite way to Ianto, see if we can corner her, go left. We don’t know what the fog can do so, be careful.”
“I’m always careful.” Jack laughed slightly as he began along the tunnel.

“Rose?”
“Ianto. You found me then.”
