“You can’t remember any of what just happened?” Chris looked towards Jack, he was still angry even if Rose couldn’t remember.
“Er, not really. Wait! You kissed me!”
Rose jumped from the bed, pulling the heart monitor with her; it crashed to the floor causing the others to rush in.
“Rose! What are you doing? Sit back down!” Owen fussed around her, resetting the monitor back to its first position.
“But he kissed me!” Rose’s welsh accent flared, she pointed at Jack but did as she was told and moved back onto the bed.
“We know, we heard.” Owen looked back at Chris’ hand.
“Got a good right hook on him, Rose.” Jack laughed slightly, pointing to his busted lip.
“Jack? Jack! Need you up here!” Ianto called from Tosh’s desk, the computers were blinking at him.
“There’s been a Weevil slighting on St. Mary’s Street, four calls to the police.” Tosh spoke as she flashed up the transcripts of the calls and directions to the last call.
“OK, Ianto, Tosh and Owen with me, let’s get this under control. Gwen look after Rose and Chris.”
“OK Jack.” Gwen smiled, looking back to Rose and Chris still sitting in the autopsy room.
The other’s left through the cog door, Ianto running off in front of them to get the SUV from the garage.
“You alright, you two?” Gwen asked as she came down the steps, settling on the stool where Jack had been sitting before he went.
“This is all so strange, unreal, I didn’t think I’d ever get inside Torchwood.” Rose smiled back to Gwen, even though her eyes travelled around the room and out into the main area of the Hub.
Chris sat still, he had never known the right words for something like this, and thought it best not to say much, he had just hit the boss half an hour ago.
“Yeah, I didn’t even know about this place until a few months ago, world’s been turned upside down!”
“Is there a toilet?” Chris asked, hoping for a quick exit.
“I’ll show you, they’re not the easiest to direct, I think the person that built this place didn’t think anyone would need the toilet. It’s a converted cell further underground. Will you be OK Rose?”
“Go on, I’ll be in the same place when you get back.” Rose looked around her, she had now got her legs off the bed and were swinging them forward and back, sitting on her hands.
Chris gave a short smile to Rose before continuing to follow Gwen.
Rose looked around the room, watching the scans from her body flash every so often on the tiles in front of her. She then stood up, turning off the heart monitor, taking it off of her as she stood.
The walk down was rather quiet and it wasn’t until they had gone a further two floors down that Chris eventually spoke up to Gwen.
“Do you think that she will get through this?”
