Teresa of the faint smile // Claymore // Pandimensional drinking establishment

Nov 14, 2011 16:33

There appears in the room a slender woman of above average height; blonde, unnaturally pale and with shining silver eyes, dressed in white with armour accents that are more about a warrior aesthetic than protection. A white cape hangs behind her,  just meeting the tops of her legs ( Read more... )

"Not always," says a metal fellow at one table with some paperwork and a pulp magazine spread out.

"Welcome to Milliways."

Whatever the warrior was about to say as she turned towards the voice, is lost when she sets eyes on the man who said it.

Lost for a second, into mild curiosity.

Then, "What is Milliways?"

Robo is fairly short and wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and work boots. He has not mouth, but there's a lot of expression that can be conveyed with just eyes.

"A pocket dimension at the end of the universe," he explains, "Also a bar with rooms and a range of other features. People end up here from just about everywhere."

'pocket dimension'
'end of the universe'
These things mean nothing to Teresa.

"Including dead people?"

"Not quite, my dear."

Offered an unnaturally-pale man in his own right, with amber-gold eyes rather than the newcomer's silver.

"Well. Possibly. Are you dead?"

She glances at him, and tilts her head thoughtfully, the faint smile not going anywhere.

If anything, it's more amused.

"There's no way I could have survived what I just went through, if that's the question. But I don't know what being dead feels like."

"Most people that I've met who come here after they die in their world appear to be aware of it. I sincerely hope that you might return home if you want to.

"My name is Carlisle. And this is Milliways."

"My name is Teresa," she offers in return.

(She wants to go home, she doesn't want to die nope she's finally found a reason to live. But she's dead, so she'll have to accept that.)

She hasn't moved before now, other than to tilt her head like she did, and look at him like he's an interesting curiosity.

"Are you dead?"

He's full of Yoma power. He's pale and colorless like a Claymore. But his eyes are gold, almost like a Claymore using her power.

It occurs to Teresa that this place might have other dead Claymores. And that includes the failed males.

X's attention -- drawn by the sword and her own sense of duty -- approaches the woman from the front, not the side.

It is only polite.

"For some people," she says, once she's within a distance measured in feet rather than yards.

"Other people are still alive."

Teresa isn't the most expressive of warriors of the Organization. But then, she's hardly the least expressive either. Her brow furrows and her head tilts and... well, she generally gives the impression that as interesting as this sounds, it doesn't make sense.

"Then what is this place?"

"A bar."

X's own expression remains impassive. She does not bother looking around.

"It is called Milliways."

She pauses, considering that a more thorough explanation might be required.

"Many people come here. Their worlds are not always the same."

With a faint smile (get used to it, you'll see it a lot) Teresa asks, "different worlds? What does that mean?"
