Mad Genius

I think I finally have concocted a dish where I deserve to be called the Mad Genius of cooking. I believe that ingenuity has created many a tasty dish, so often when I have a hankering for something I just start looking through the cupboards, and see what I have on hand to flavor it. My mom said there was a large filet of fresh salmon in the fridge ( Read more... )

Interesting... When it comes to salmon I usually go teriyaki or lemon/pepper, but I could see raisins working. Share please :)

I don't have an actual recipe written out yet, but I'll e-mail it to you later when I do. Should be by tonight. When making the recipe I thought what would go well with both salmon and raisins. Here's my list.

-Butter
-Slightly sweet white wine
-Freshly cracked pepper
-Tarragon

Basically I just pan-fried the salmon in butter and canola oil. When I dredged the salmon in flour, I used a lot of cracked pepper in there too.

After I finished the pan frying I cleaned the grease out with a paper towel and made the sauce with the 4 ingredients I used above, plus the raisins.

I take that as a huge compliment of somebody who doesn't even like fish ^^

If you're ever up for getting used to the taste of seafood and are willing to try it, I've thought up some clever ways to disguise the fact that you're eating seafood. *sneaky, sneaky*

I am intrigued, sir! Please to give me a copy of your recipe. When are you going to be visiting us Kentons again?

I shall indeed! It will either be this weekend or next weekend sometime. More than likely next weekend.

I'm disappointed! When you said mad scientist I thought you were going to tell me you were looking through the cupboard and found Coco Wheats, marschino cherries, and capers and made THAT work.

Raisins is nothing :P

I expect to see a recipe involving these things within a couple of weeks. ;)

The only suggestion I have for that recipe is to apply the kool-aid pickle principle to the capers. Preferably cherry kool-aid so that would go with the maraschino cherries.
