Lulu rubbed at her eyes a moment, still unused to the strain of writing by candlelight after all the time spent using electricity in Fandom. Finally, the pain ebbed away, and she looked over the letter she'd just finished.
Dear Rikku,
I hope the semester is finding you well. Things on Spira are, thankfully, not quite so bad as we'd feared, although certainly they're not good. Yuna and I are currently staying in Kilika as we wait for representatives from New Yevon, the Youth League, and the Machine Faction to arrive for what we hope to be preliminary talks toward peace.
In fact, both the Youth League and the Machine Faction have already arrived. We wait solely upon New Yevon -- however, considering the pace with which they're approaching Spira's future, I suppose some tardiness in their arrival is to be expected.
There is other news! Your father was kind enough to ferry Yuna and myself to Kilika on the Fahrenheit, and in the process I learned that there are, in fact, satellites in orbit around Spira that remain from before the Machina War. They are even still functional. At the moment, the only thing they've managed is to make a connection between them and the Fahrenheit; that, in fact, is how they learned of them in the first place, when Yuna bumped a switch on a panel and created an... uplink? I believe the word was. They're not even certain the purpose of the satellites, merely that they relay some form of information between them and a receiver. Perhaps another purpose can be found for them?
I'd ask you to stay out of trouble, but I fear that, for you, this is an impossible request. So, instead, stay safe and on your guard.
All my love,
Lulu
