It's nice to read a recount of that area like that, Julie. While I wasn't tied to it like you were, I miss it too. Such a huge part of my youth, and where I learned a lot of what shaped who I am.
It's hard to see it plowed down and turned into nothing more than a movie theater and some snooty shops. I miss the drum circles, and that sax player that..no matter how much cash I had on me, I always tossed him some.
And the square, and fountain. *sigh*
