I've been saying that most superhero comic books are little different from published fanfic for years.

It's so true! It's socially acceptable (for the most part) fanfiction.

I agree! Reading is reading is reading. Just like any compelling novel, there has been plenty of times where I stayed up late glued to the computer screen reading awesome fanfic. I love it when that happens.

Besides, there are a lot of books published out there that are considered mediocre fanfiction. *Eyes Twilight*

I can't tell you how much fic I've read and been addicted to. I've read so much good stuff over the years!

And yes. There are definitely published novels that are way more mediocre. I have read plenty of HP fics that were just as good as the books (but maybe a little better because it wasn't all from Harry's POV?).

The fic I cherish the most that made me stay up late reading were the More is my Unrest series. (A Draco/Ginny fic, you can read the whole series at a closed Yahoo group.) And After the End. (The only time I actually didn't mind reading Sirius, though he is in it little.)

Hm, I haven't been to that comm before, thanks for the link! And yeah, there is truly an awesome amount of writers/betas/etc. out there who make fandom awesome. :)
