I am totally with you on this one. I choose to believe that the people who are pro trump are part of a big cult, and they don't realize they've been duped. Because I can't think of any other explanation. Well, other than racism.

It certainly feels like a cult. The thing that gets me more than anything else is it's so utterly transparent he doesn't care a bit about anyone else, he's just in it for himself. Why on earth would anything think he's on their side? At best his self-interest only benefits you in a temporary fashion until you're no longer of use to him. He's the textbook definition of a fair-weather friend.

There is no logic involved. They have been duped by people (foreign intervention and unscrupulous entertainment networks posing as news outlets and churches that aren't as Christian as they claim to be) and other-ism (racism, homophobia, fear of women, etc.) and the fear that they will not be on the top of the heap anymore.
I feel like I understand what happened with average citizens in Germany in the 1930s now. I understand, but I don't excuse.
