I'm going to keep track of everything I spend for the next month. This is scary and daunting beyond believe, but I realized I have no idea where my money goes, yet I manage to spend more than I should every month. And that's not a good thing...

Same here! I've been scaling back on all I buy this past month, because I find money can just vanish into thin air faster than I'd like it to. I am a clotheshorse trying to be more moderate, and I'm also trying to spend less on takeout and dinners out, as that does a fair amount of damage. I'm trying to figure out a good balance between enjoying life without spending too much or being too cheap. However, life can just be plain expensive, even if someone's not living extravagantly--just moderately. Sometimes I'm amazed by how much basic needs can add up to.

I'm not even scaling back yet. I 'm spending as per usual for a month, and then we'll see where it goes. Stuff I don't need, most likely!

I actually think a lot of my money goes to things like coffee and croissants at the train station, and other snack type things. The spending on clothes I did last month I'm aware of. It was about 400 euro...
