I've got a random idea...
Do a Google Search (or other search engine) for 'abandoned house'or 'abandoned hospital' or 'abandoned places' or 'ghost towns' or any other variation. Look for a picture of an abandoned location (any location, from a house to a nuclear bunker to a Russian Hydro Station, whatever) that you find interesting and would like me to write a snippet of story based around, then give me the link to the picture (or page of pictures). I recommend doing a google image search with your chosen search terms, because then you can get a preview of the pics before going to the page instead of finding a bunches of pages of text with little or no pics... lol
Like if linked me to one of these pics (1, 2, or 3) the fic might be about how when the apocalypse came, the roads split open beneath the wheels of the Impala and smoke poured out as the earth burned beneath their feet, hot enough to melt the tires. Or maybe the graffiti is warning people to stay out of the crater that once was Sunnydale, before The First rose and destroyed and Slayer and her cohorts, leaving only a tiny handful of survivors who are trying, fruitlessly, to raise an army to fight back.
I'm feeling in the mood to write angst-y apocafic type stuff, get out some of my personal angst. So, anyone wanna prompt me an apocalyptic pic of an abandoned location? I'll also accept creepy photos of woods shrouded in fog, or ice fields that look like 'omfg new ice age' level... if it could have an apocalyptic interpretation, I wanna see it.
I may even end up writing Southland apocafic because... well... I do so love the show and it is back with new eps TONIGHT...
