In the future, when working on Drupal sites, do not set the login block to show up only on admin pages, thinking that this will somehow give you a Joomla-like setup where you have to type in the admin URL to get to the login page, and the general public is not tempted to try to log in to something they shouldn't ( Read more... )

there's a way to fix that by editing a text file, i'm sure.

Well, having gotten some replies to the panicked post I made on the Drupal.org forums last night, it now seems that it's no big deal - lots of people actually remove the login block entirely for sites that don't allow public login. The thing I didn't realize is that to get to the login page you have to go to yourdomain.com/user rather than yourdomain.com/admin. Once I did that, all was good.
