Sis and BIL facetimed me with Dad and boyyyyy he's looking gaunt and vacant. They're trying their best to get calories into him but he's just not eating much. He also didn't know what he'd done that day or really where he was - though with the latter, he's been moved all around the huge hospital so that's not surprising. How unutterably nervous-making. I hope your dad gets a rehab placement. A hospital making what is essentially a drive-by diagnosis ON DAY ONE on an elderly patient who is likely to be disoriented and agitated under the best of circumstances is unconscionable. I suppose they’re saying oh, no, a door didn’t fall on him - he’s just delusional.

Crossing fingers on your stomach.

I told Sis if/when she talks to them again to ask if the behavioral health department that's working to get his MH meds adjusted can do a reassessment to get that OFF his chart.

Oh, they admit the door fell on him, because of all stupid things, it's DESIGNED to do that. It's one of those doors held up with strong magnets that's supposed to give way if someone puts too much pressure on it, to keep someone from hanging themselves. How on earth something like that is allowed in the geriatric portion of the place is beyond me.
