* What is google+ and do I care that I can’t have it right now?

* Ladies on the Dark Side: the Army is experimenting with women in Special Operations. When it has really needed to, the military has long found loopholes to get around the ‘no women in the combat arms’ laws -- even as those laws get tightened. This is another example of that. that is very cool about women getting into SO.

I think this says all you need to know about Google+: http://xkcd.com/918/

The new M:I trailer looks promising, if only there weren't so much Tom Cruise in it....and now that I know that the original TV series is streaming on Netflix, I think we can safely assume that all productivity has gone out the window.

Still haven't seen the new X-Men movie, but will read your fic once I do. Alas, I know nothing of X-fic lists or archives.

Well, it's back to work, if only I can ignore the siren call of M:I on Netflix...

That cartoon explains everything. Thank you. :)

(I don't have a facebook account.)

The new X-movie is pretty cool.

Competent baseball is the best baseball. Alas for me baseball season is over for another 233 days. But the boys made the college world series for the first time since '99 so it was a good season.

I'm not getting too excited by Competent Baseball. Not when they celebrate their new status by putting Ronny Paulino in the cleanup spot. (?!?)

I know of a few Charles/Erik comms, but no noticeboards/newsletters (gen or otheriwse). My impression is also that a lot of XMFC stuff is happening on tumbler, but I know next to nothing about tumbler myself, though I'm checking in on a few of them regularly (mostly pics, art and interview vids).

I don't understand tumblr, either. Is it a blog without original content? Is it something else? Is it sure?

I have NO IDEA, I just like looking at the pretty pitures (and those guys make for some good ones) those do pretty much pop up on pretty much all of the tumblers in different order, though no always (thus necessitating following multiple ones). I have pretty much no idea how one would find out who created the content (there are sometimes also download links) beyond some credited comics.

I don't know an X-men specific com, being more a DC girl myself, but comicstore-news is a general comic-books-and-related-media noticeboard, and they've had an explosion of X-men First Class fic recently, for obvious reasons. If you check their affiliates you might find a specifically X-men focused com more what you're looking for.

Aha. Thank you kindly. That sounds generally useful as a comics media consumer.

I don't know of a newsletter/noticeboard, but thefirstclass is the biggest First Class comm that I know of that isn't specific to a pairing.
