***IMPORTANT*** JAPAN AID CHARM FOR SALE***PLEASE READ!!***
Ok, the charm is ready, so I'm putting it up tonight so I can (hopefully) start taking orders for it. Few changes to my original post to report and I'll probably post again tomorrow reminding people about this and with other links and relevant information relating to help for Japan and what folks are doing around the web and again when the official gackt_army charity drive post goes up.
First, here's the charm!
It's a sakura blossom charm, a symbol quintessentially Japanese and in this case, I want it to symbolise rebirth, life continuing after darkness and that despite this awful disaster, Japan will recover.
It's 2cm in diameter and made by being hand sawn (pierced) from silver sheet, then run through a rolling mill to imprint it with a leaf/petal pattern, then drilled to attach a jump ring and oxidised. I'll be hand making each one, these will not be cast, so you're getting a hand made piece of jewellery at absolute bare minimum cost, pretty good deal I'd say and it can be worn as a pendant, attached to a mobile phone or a key ring or pretty much anything you can think of!
Ok, the important part!
The donation is £14. This is the MINIMUM donation, if you want to donate more, that would be fantastic, but £14 will get you one. Each one costs £4 of silver to make and while I would like to cover that I just can't, so the donation I will forward for each one sold will be £10. I will cover postage to anywhere in the world, so my contribution will be my time (each one takes an hour to make) and the postage, I hope that sounds ok.
You can also have it in bright silver, unoxidised, although I have to say, the oxidising brings out the details really well. Piccie below the cut alongside the oxidised one.
Delivery times are subject to how many orders I get. I will make them as I get orders in sequence and get them out as soon as I can, but I'm not going to stress myself out, so please bear with me and be patient. Your charm will arrive as soon as I can possibly make and ship it!
HOW TO ORDER:
-Send me a PM with your name and address and whether you want an oxidised or unoxidised charm. I will reply with my paypal address for the donation to be made. Please send the amount in sterling and also, please choose the gift option, it'll only cost you a few pence more but losing a few pence each time would cut into the amount I can donate. Once I get notification of payment, I will add your name to the list!
Once I have all the money or in a week, whichever is sooner, I'll make the donation and then further ones if necessary after that. I haven't decided 100% on where it'll go yet, but it'll either be to GACKT's Show Your Heart project, which he's set up to facilitate donations to the Japanese Red Cross and which will know where best to use the money, or to the UK Red Cross, which amounts to the same thing and SHELTERBOX, which is an amazing organisation providing emergency shelter and basic survival supplies to people in dire straits after a disaster. They are already in Japan as I type.
I understand that some people can't afford even the pared down cost of a charm and that's fine, but if you could publicise the hell out of this anywhere and everywhere that would be fantastic and really helpful. I don't care how many of these I make, I have the time, what's important and the only thing which matters is how much we can raise so please, order if you can, but publicise this anyway.
