Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 “So, he’s the new recruit?” A huge guys asked. He had short, black hair and not normal sized teeth. It might just look like that because he had a gummy smile though. It was nice, but he kept giving me puzzled looks, making me feel even more uncomfortable.
“Yes, Taec, and stop staring at him like that. You’re appearance can already scare some people away....”
The look on that guy’s face was priceless. It would be hard to describe in words. I guess you can say he looked like as if someone stole his favorite piece of food away. I chuckle a little. He looked back at me, which made me quite in an instant.
He let out a sigh and crossed his arms. “Well, at lease he couldn’t be as bad as you.”
Nichkhun glared at him. “I’m not that bad.”
“Well, compared to us, of course. The only reason you’re even captain is because of your face.” Another voice perked up.
I looked over at the guy that was sitting on the floor stretching. He was wearing gray sweatpants and a white tank top. He stood up and walked over towards me extending out an arm for a handshake. I stuck out my hand to reach for his, but as I did, Nichkhun stepped in between us. Nichkhun’s back was facing me. I peak around him and saw that the guy was giving him a smirk,
“Not available.” Nichkhun said calmly.
"Huh?" I asked, but my comment was quickly ignored.
Jay lifted up his hands in defense. “It wasn’t even going to be like that.”
Jay looked over towards me. I raised an eyebrow at him. “Hi, my name is Jaeboem. But just call me Jay.”
I cleared my throat. “Hi....”
“A shy one, eh?....Hmm, that’ll change as long as you’re with us. By the way I’m co-captain slash vice-prez. Whatever you may see it. But basically I’m the leader, so don’t listen to Nichkhun except on the days we gotta come to practice. I’m the real leader.”
I nodded my head in acknowledgement. Nichkhun scuffed at the last remark. Jay ignored him and pointed towards Taec. “This is Taecyeon, but we just call him Taec. He’s actually a real softy underneath that strong exterior he got going on. And Chansung....”
Jay stopped and turned to look around the dance studio. “Where is he? And the JunBros?”
Nichkhun shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know. I thought they would be here already. They might be eating.”
Jay let out a big sigh. “Well, let’s get started anyway. We already wasted a lot of time.”
Jay looked over towards me. “First let me show you the choreo we’ve been practicing for the competition this year.”
He walked over towards a sound system in the corner and clicked on the play button. Nichkhun grab the end of my scarf and started pulling me towards the wall with the mirrors. Taecyeon followed us and we sat down waiting for the music and Jay to start.
Jay got into the center as soon as the music started playing. I instantly perked up, realizing the song that he was going to dance to, Super Junior’s ‘A-Cha’. Jay wasted no time getting to the beat and synchronizing his moves with the music. His movements were nearly flawless, being sharp and at point, but a little off. I noticed that he seemed to have a problem landing moves on his right side. I took a mental note of this as he stopped half-way of the song. He stared at me, meeting my eyes. He smiled at me. I adverted my eyes and lifted up my scarf some, trying to play it off.
Suddenly, a slam echoed throughout the dance room, scaring me half to death. I looked towards the entrance and saw three guys walking in. One of them let out a yell.
“It’s you!”
I quickly stood and instantly regretted it as the guy rushed over towards me and gave me a hug. My feet lifted up off the ground as he picked me up and spunned me around.
“Yah! Chansung!” Nichkhun yelled.
Chansung just laughed as he spunned me around one last time and let me go. “Wow, I wouldn’t expect you to be here? So you’re the newbie. I’m glad.”
He smiled at me, waiting for me to respond. I just gave him a slight nod, but even that made him satisfied.
“You know him, Chansung?”
I looked over towards the person calling him and was surprise to see a dark strawberry attacking his hair. I took a hand to rub at my hair, wondering if I should dye my hair the same color. On his pale skin, it stood out a lot, but it wasn’t at all bad. Still, it probably wouldn’t look so great on me.
Chansung wrapped an arm around me and pulled me into him, “Oh, he’s Nichkhun’s new roommate. He’s a freshman like me!"
I stared at Chansung for a moment. “You’re a freshman?”
The other guy just smiled at me with an all, knowing smirk.
“Oh, don’t worry you’re not the only one who probably thought he was a senior. Also..." He touched his hair and pointed at the person that was standing next to him. “...let me just say that all of this is his fault.”
The brunette that was standing next to him glared at him. “For the hundredth time, I’m sorry! Geez, Junho, I wouldn’t think you would be a person to hold a grudge.”
Junho smiled at him and reached up to pull on the guy’s cheek. “I already forgave you. I still can’t believe you didn’t read the freakin’ box color, but I still love you.”
The guy slightly blushed, allowing Junho to continue to abuse his cheek. Junho chuckle at his cuteness. “You’re so cute, Junsu.”
“Oh, god. They’re going to do it again." Chansung mumbled.
I was about to ask him what he was talking about, but as Junho leaned over and brushed his lips at the corner of Junsu’s lips, I instantly got the message.
Before anymore of there skin-ship could happen a loud clap resonated through out the room. We all turned our attention over towards Jay, who had his arms crossed in front of his chest. “Alright! Enough! It's Time to practice and for the ones who were late, you have to buy the rest of us dinner. Including the new kid.”
Jay looked over at me and smiled as groans erupted from Junho and Junsu. Chansung just shrugged, already expecting some punishment. I let out a sigh of relief and smiled back at Jay, even though he couldn’t see it. Now that I thought about it, I was very surprise that none of the others decided to question me on my whole, ‘it’s-hot-in-here-but-I’ll-still-have-on-my-winter-clothing’ style. I guessed they were the type of people to keep to their own business, unlike a certain someone. Thinking of him, I looked around and spotted him still sitting on the floor at the mirrors, staring at me. he looked really pissed off for some reason.
I was going to ask him what’s his problem, but Jay interrupted and told us to get in to position. Nichkhun stood up and passed me, not sparing me a glance. Chansung, who still had his arm on my shoulders, started pushing me to the position Jay told him he wanted me, which was right behind Nichkhun. We were position in a triangle with Jay at the point, allowing each of us to see ourselves in the mirror.
Jay pointed at the mirror towards me. “You, just follow Nichkhun’s steps. Nichkhun has the steps, but he can easily break it down if you need help. We will be going slow, step by step, and then once we see you’re picking it up, we’ll speed up. By the time you get the whole choreo that we have right now, we will move on to the next choreo I have planned. Got it?”
I nodded my head and he gave me a reassuring smile. “Don’t look so sad. It’s not hard.”
I gave him a half smile and he looked away from me, starting the steps. I followed Nichkhun like he said and saw that the moves weren’t too hard. We went over the steps three times and I quickly caught on. Jay seemed to be pleased by this as he yelled out that we were speeding it up to normal. he even turned on the music. I was ready. I got in position and followed the others with great ease. I made a few mistakes, but overall I had a good understanding.
By the time, I got the the first half of the steps and the extra, that he planned to teach today, I was sweating to death. My breathing got hard and I could barely take in a needed breath. I felt weak and lightheaded. I really needed some water, but I wasn’t sure on how to ask. There was a step were we rested on our knees before we stood up in a domino style, starting first with Taecyeon and working back down the rows, ending with Nichkhun. But as soon as I got on my knees, I couldn’t get up when my row needed to.
Jay saw my mistake and clapped his hands to get everyone’s attention. “We’ll have to start all over. Change positions!"
Junsu went over to the stereo system to restart the song.
Nichkhun’s position was beside me on my right, since we moved around. He looked over towards me. He gave me a quick look over and without a word, he grab onto my arm, hoisting me up onto my feet. I glared at him, but I doubt it was strong.
“Yah, Jay! Let’s break! We’ve been dancing four hours without one!” Nichkhun yelled as he tugged me out the dance room, ignoring any of Jay’s protests and the happy sounds of the others.
I kept up to his pace as he continue to hurried me on towards a room that was three doors away from the dance room. He opened the door, flicked on the lights, and pushed me inside. I ignored the pain as I fell on the floor and laid there for a moment trying to catch my breath. I looked around and saw that it seemed like we were in a locker room. Nichkhun walked passed me and out of my view. I heard the sound of a knob turning and water coming out, hitting the floor.
The sound of footsteps made its way back to me. I looked at Nichkhun who had a worried expression on his face.
“Get undress and hop into the shower.”
“Wh-What?” I coughed out.
He bend down and grab my arm and hoisted me back on my feet. He pushed me down onto the bench that was beside me. Then without any consent from me, he started taking off my scarf.
“Yah!” I yelled trying to grab back at my scarf, but he hit my hands out of the way.
Once off, I felt slightly relieved. I was pretty sure that scarf was soaked in sweat. Nichkhun reached out to grab for my shirt. I hit his hands out of the way. “I got it....”
Nichkhun hit me in the arm. “I hope you do, you idiot! Dehydrating yourself isn’t the best thing in the word. I should've made you wore some shorts or something....”
“Dehydrating?” I mumbled to myself, rubbing at my arm and trying to think about what that word meant.
Nichkhun let out a sigh, clutching on my scarf. “Just get in the shower. You’ll feel better. I’ll go get some clothes and a towel for you.”
I couldn’t even protest as Nichkhun left the locker room. I stood up, shakily, and made my way over towards the sound of the shower that was running. As I stepped in the shower room, I was surprise to see that it was a huge, baby-blue space with just shower heads. There was no privacy at all. I gulped, thinking of all the body brushing that could happen. But then again, I was glad that we had our own bathrooms in our dorms.
I walked over towards the shower that was running and stepped underneath it. I nearly jumped as I realized it was completely cold. I looked at the knobs and figured out how to put a little hot water on and stepped underneath the shower again. It was more cold than hot and it’s what I needed.
I let the water soak my clothes and mittens and shoes. I squatted down and let the water run down my entire body. I was feeling slightly better. But I was still highly thirsty. I tilted my head up and opened my mouth to drink some of the water. Once satisfied, I stood up and felt the need to take off my clothes. I didn’t want to at first since I didn’t felt too comfortable with the thought that anyone could walk in on me, but I didn’t care anymore. I slipped my mittens off and threw them down. I lifted up my shirt and slipped it off, tossing it down with my mittens.
I lifted up my hands and rub at my face. I slowly lifted them up and let my fingers run through my hair.
“Here.” a voice called out.
I quickly turned around to see Nichkhun at the doorway staring at me, holding a towel out.”Come on, get out.”
I shook my head, wondering how I didn’t hear him. I turned the knobs off and bent down to pick up my belongings, wringing them out and pulling them to my chest before going over towards him.
Now I didn’t expect a few things to happen in such a quick motion. One, I didn’t expect one of my shoes to be untide. Two, I didn’t expect for Nichkhun to reach out for me as I tripped myself. Three, I didn’t expect for a cliche’ moment of having his lips pressed against mine.
A poof resonated and I instantly felt the need to hide myself. It was all over. I tried getting my furry-self off Nichkhun’s face, but Nichkhun grabbed my neck, pulling me off of him and keeping me frozen. He sat up and stared at me, with mixed expressions. We stared at each other for a while, before he spoked up.
“Wooyoung?”
I gave him a blank stare and did the only thing I could do. “Meow?”
