Part 1 Once I caught up to Nichkhun, he ignored my pestering about giving my things back and continued to walk up the rest of the stairs. Once we made it up the stairs we encountered a horizontal hallway, that held many doors with room numbers on them. No one was down either side. Nichkhun took a right and I followed behind him. It wasn’t until we were almost at the end of the hall that he decided to stop. He shifted to the left to come in contact with a metal door. I gulped knowing exactly what he decided to take me. He pressed an up arrow button that rested on the wall next to the door. My eyes focused on the digital blue screen above the door as it counted down to our floor. The sound of hearing something descend made my stomach turn over. I shakily placed my hand on the wall, but jumped instantly as the elevator ding, reaching our location.
I was glad that the Hyung faced his back to me. I didn’t know many people who are afraid of elevators and I find it slightly embarrassing, but those fearless people who actually get on those things don’t know the full detail of those roaring monsters. A little glitch in that elevator and it’s over for whoever rides it. I read way too many news articles about the innocent lives it claimed every year, so I blame my Internet.
The sliding doors opened and I saw that no one else was inside. Nichkhun walked inside the elevator with my two luggage and turned around to face me. He placed my luggage down and pressed a button inside the elevator. He stood there for a moment, staring at me, waiting for me to get on that movable floor, but I stood my ground, clutching on that one single luggage I had that held nothing more then my laptop and a few pairs of pants and shirts. He let out a sigh, noticing that I wasn’t going to budge and stepped forward to place his hand on the sliding door that was about to close. It bounced back with a ding. He kept his hand on the door and placed another on the door frame on the other side.
He raised an eyebrow. “Get on.”
I tightened my hand around the handle of my suitcase and glared at him. “I am not getting on that death trap. Can you please give me my stuff back, Thief?”
He opened his mouth to reply, but he quickly closed it and hummed to himself as if in thought. He took his hand that was on the door frame and rubbed the back of his head. “I’m not a thief. I’m your roommate. I’m just taking your stuff to our room, now please can you get on?”
I scuffed at him. “I’ll take the stairs.”
“We are not going to take the stairs. It’s much faster this way.”
My glared hardened. “I am not getting on there. You can take the elevator. Just tell me the room number.”
He smirked. “No.”
I scowled and tried my best not to stump my feet on the ground like a child. He was not being fair. I turned around, planning on heading back the way I came. I could always get new clothes anyway and maybe a transfer, while I’m at it. Before I could even take a third step, I felt a hand grab my wrist, pulling me backwards. I didn’t even have time to register what, who, and why as the elevator’s door closed me inside.
I began shaking and fell on to the ground as my knees gave up on me. I closed my eyes as I felt the elevator ascending, pulling my body down as if it was trying to take me through the floor. I started hyperventilating. The hand that pulled me inside was still clutching my wrist. I felt another on my back. I pulled a hand over my mouth, feeling my breakfast coming up. I swallowed, trying to pushed it back down. I let out a breath as it went back down into my stomach. I heard the door ding and a few mumbling voices as the elevator door opened up. I could only guess about three or four people standing there.
“Is he okay?” a girl’s voice asked.
“Yea, he’s just queasy.” Nichkhun’s answered.
“Oh, Nichkhun. Do you need help?” a deep voice asked.
I rolled my eyes, knowing it was a guy. I really wished there was a way for me to have a female as a roommate, but this college didn't allow co-ed rooming.
“Could you grab the luggage?” Nichkhun asked.
I felt someone taking my suitcase out of my hand. Next, I felt the hand around my wrist leave, going behind my back and the hand that was on my back, going underneath my legs. I was lifted up off the ground. I opened my eyes and stared up at the person caring me. Nichkhun looked down and gave me a wary smile. “Sorry, I didn’t think you had a phobia of riding elevators....”
I didn’t say anything. I had a headache and I was short of breath. I just needed to get out of the elevator. I closed my eyes again, allowing him to carry me to our room.
Once in the room. I felt Nichkhun placing me down on a rather comfy bed. I opened my eyes again and saw him staring down at me. He tried to touch my forehead and I quickly grab him by the arm.
“D-Don’t touch me." I mumbled softly.
He gave me a puzzled look and brought his hand away from my face. I let him go and quickly sat up. I instantly regretted it as I felt a wave of nausea hit me. I took a hand to cover my mouth. He placed his hand on my back and I pushed him off me. He stepped back away from me. I tipped back my head, looking up at the ceiling and let out a groaned. I heard him walk away from me and a few seconds later I heard water running. After a while it stopped. Nichkhun started walking back.
Next thing I saw was a glass above my head. “Hear drink this.”
I looked back down and took the glass and sipped on it slowly, letting the water push down anything that wanted to crawl up my throat. I looked over the rim of the glass and saw a tall guy, holding my luggage at the door way. He looked older than me, having short, black hair and bangs that pulled to the left, almost covering his left eye. He saw me looking at him and gave me a greasy smile.
“Uh, Nichkhun, what do I do with these?”
“Oh, yea. Sorry, man. Just drop it over hear near the bed. It’s his stuff, anyway.”
The guy walked in and sat it down near my feet. He crotched down, looking up at me. I adverted my eyes from him, feeling heat rise to my cheeks. Up closed he wasn’t bad looking.
He placed a hand on my knee, making me feel slightly uncomfortable, but I didn’t push him away. “So, you don’t like elevators?”
I shook my head no.
He chuckle a little. “And this guy decided to put you on there?”
I saw him pointing his thumb to the side. I looked up slightly and moved my eyes to where he was pointing. I nodded my head.
“Yah! I didn’t think he was scared to death of them!”
The guy laughed and stood up. He placed a hand on top of my head and ruffle my hat. I looked up at him, grabbing the ends of my hat and pulled it down to keep it steady on top of my head. He removed his hand off of my head and smiled brightly at me.
“You have some pretty eyes.”
I stared at him shocked at his comment. Nichkhun cough, making me turn my attention to him. “Well, Chansung, thanks for all of your help. You can leave now.”
He took Changsung by the arm and tried to drag him out of the room. “Wait, Hyung, I didn’t ask him his name!”
“Too bad!”
Nichkhun pushed him out with force, making him fall on the ground and without a glance, slam the door in his face.
Nichkhun turned to face me. I gave him a ‘what face’. I placed the water down on the nightstand that separated our beds. He walked over to me and bend down to me level, placing his hands on his knees. I leaned back as he got in my face.
“You do have some pretty eyes.” He whispered, more to himself.
He pushed me back with a hand. I fell down on the bed, bouncing a little. I stared up at him.
“W-What are you doing?”
He leaned over me and trapped me between his arms. I tried to get up, but he just pushed me back down. I even grab his shirt and tried to push him, but he didn’t budge. I let out a frustrated breath of air. He took a two fingers and walked it up from my chest to my chin. He gently tug my scarf down, pulling it underneath my chin. He examined me for a moment before deciding to take off my hat as well. The cool air felt nice as it came in contact with my wet hair. Too bad it was wet with my sweat. I clutched on his shirt and tried pushing him off again.
“Get off me. Don’t touch me!”
“Why? You let Chansung touch you.”
“I don’t want you to touch me.”
“Hmm, that reason isn’t good enough.”
He smiled and leaned down, ghosting his lips over mine. I dared not to mutter a word as I feared that our lips would touch. He kept his eyes with mine. His eyes were strong and smooth while mine were wide and scared. He stayed like that for a few second more before, deciding to leaned up and off of me. I came up with him, since I was still clutching his shirt. Once I got into a sitting position, I quickly let go and looked down at my feet. I took my scarf and pulled it back above my nose. My face was hot.
“You have a nice face too.”
He walked away from me and went out the dorm’s door.
