well, this is sufficiently creepy...just keep thinking of that "road to hell paved with good intentions...." definitely not liking the mind manipulation Sam's got going on...and all the weight on his shoulders. I like how you are playing with the push pull of the family dynamic - letting people in and shutting them back out.

Oh, I love these! I also oddly love that it's not one long, connected narrative, but rather pieces like beads on a string, the important bits of the story told to us with just enough shading to paint in the stuff between.

It still hurts that Alec calls his father "Sam", rather than Dad, especially when Sam so clearly identifies the boy as his son. I just hope they can get through this - and that Sam will *quit* freaking meddling! - before it's too late.

Though three times the recommended dose? That right there scares me. Oh, Sam. You really can't hide from it all, and if you're not careful, you're still gonna hurt the two people you love most. *wibble*

It also dawns on me that Sam hates Manticor for doing what it did to Alec ... but he's meddling just as bad. Because he loves the boy doesn't give him the right to govern what Alec thinks or remembers or feels. *sighhhs* Great job with the complications of family dynamics.
