T minus 3 Months

Hiya all! It's about T minus 3 months (remember: the evening of Friday, March 19th to the morning of Sunday, March 21st) till we start up again with the con, so we're beginning to firm up our plans. While we're still hotel shopping and figuring out the room and con suite situation, it's getting time to know what numbers we're looking at. Remember, ( Read more... )

God, I would love to go, but I just looked at flight options from Halifax to Philly, and - yeah. Kind of a nightmare. :(

I can't come due to other obligations but why are they charging you more money for more people? Usually it's the other way around. Or are you getting a free meeting room if there are more than 20 people?

Those are the rates for two different hotels. The smaller one is charging less, but only has room for 20 in rooms of four*, while the larger one is charging more, but has said we can have the space for up to fourty if we need it. Again, we're still looking at hotels, but this is how it stands.

*the rate for rooms of three or more would be more per person than the rate for four, roughly similar to the bigger hotel actually, and I don't feel comfortable asking some people to pay more than others to stay the night.

Okay, that makes sense. I'm bummed that I can't go. I was so looking forward to it. Have a great weekend!

I just got a quote from Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing for $169 a night per room, and the Latham Hotel is the smaller one with the lower price. Again, I haven't heard back from all of the hotels, but that's what we've got so far. I'm going to start firming hotel stuff up when I have more exact numbers for attendees.
