I've had the same washer and dryer for over 5 years now and no problems with them yet, touch wood. My dishwasher, on the other hand, has some issues purely because my husband doesn't know how to properly take care of it. It was fine while I was the main person loading it all the time. Once he took over when he quit his job and I had to get my own job, he somehow kept making it build up with mould. I'd never seen a dishwasher do that before!

In the last six years we've replaced every appliance in our house bigger than, or equal to, the toaster. We've never had a dishwasher until one was given to us this year; when I tried to use it, I discovered I didn't have the correct connection to the faucet, and the dishwasher is so old they might not make it anymore. So at the moment it's a very heavy counter top.
