Vergil hasn't thought to look for the sparkly pink bodyswapping gun in the lost and found yet. He's been too busy working on things like walking. Even once the body purged the alcohol, that proved to be trickier than previously imagined. Demeter hasn't seen Porthos in a while so kisses his cheek when she spots him,

"I hope you've been keeping out of trouble, my dear."

Vergil still hasn't entirely worked out how to speak, either. Human vocal apparatus is completely counter-intuitive. What Demeter gets instead of a proper response is, "Wngh?"
