She's found her invitation to the twins' birthday party, much to her delight. She's even more excited to see Mary- until she sees her expression and the sign.
"Mary, Mary, I've missed you! Are you okay?"

Mary turns to her, and takes a deep breath.
"Someone," she says, her voice pitched lower, and more precise, than it has been when speaking to anyone else, "wishes to hurt me. So you ought to be careful."
