"Is Mr. Johnson here at all?" she asks, looking up at the strange man. "I'm s'posed to borrow his post-hole digger so Uncle Henry can fix the back fence..."
"Sorry, but I doubt it. Most people who come here do so accidentally, and I haven't met a Mr. Johnson. This is Milliways, and I'm Dexter."
Dexter is smiling and speaks cheerfully, as one would typically speak to a child. He's trying not to alarm the girl. Dexter likes kids, but he's not sure if the girl will start crying when she realises she's far, far from home. It's making him a little awkward.
She shakes the offered hand. "I'm Dorothy Gale, and this is Toto," she says, nodding toward the little black dog. It sniffs at Dexter's shoes curiously. "What's a Milliways, and what's it doing inside Mr. Johnson's house?"
Dorothy stares. The boy is green. Even the people in the Emerald City weren't green. (They looked green-ish, but that was because of the glasses everyone had to wear.)
Toto starts growling. They look like a boy and a dog, but they don't smell like anything. Things that don't have a smell are Not To Be Trusted.
Enzo frowns in embarrassment at the little dog. "Oh, sorry. User dogs don't like sprites mostly. They can't smell us. He'll get used to it, I think. Frisket can't smell you either, and I think he's okay with it now." Frisket is growling back at the little dog, but that doesn't really mean anything.
He brightens back up and looks at the girl. "Sorry. My name's Enzo Matrix." He sticks out a hand in greeting.
"Dorothy Gale." She looks around. "What is this place? I was goin' to Mr. Johnson's to borrow his post-hole digger, but when I went through the door I wound up here instead."

He holds out a hand for her to shake.

Toto's growls, meanwhile, roughly translate as I don't care how big you are, buddy, I can take you.
