I am sooooooooooo excited about this - it's the fandom I wanted \o/
I can't wait to read it.
But I have to wait - boooo! - because it's Monday morning and there is so much work to deal with. *sadface*

Oh, do I know the feeling. No worries. I hope it's worth the wait!

Danny Leary? Oh! Danny Leary. OMG, that had never crossed my mind and now it's doing more than just crossing!

I love the sensory descriptions of the Sunny section. And the idea that this is how she protects herself from the job. And Patricia as the totally-in-control ice-queen - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I'll have some of that.

But David and Danny? So painful. And also hot. /o\

I hope it's worth the wait!

Oh, yes indeedy!

Thank you, ma'am.

Oh, Lord - I'm sorry if I missed a DVI pairing preference! Did you ask for Mick somewhere and I completely spaced it? This is possible, I must admit: I did look for a Dear Santa letter, but didn't see one and hardly expected or felt entitled to one, since I signally failed to write one myself. So I thought about David Sandstrom, whom fandom seems to view as something of an equal-opportunity slut (rather like the Ray Kowalski of NORBAC? ... and my God, there's a pairing, if you like), and about the DVI regulars and semiregulars, and about how they might mix and commingle. And Danny was the first person I thought of. Possibly because I find Max Martini almost impossible hot (why, yes, I am a freak, why do you ask?), but also the characters seemed to me to make some kind of sense together, especially as part of a possible explanation for why David is the way he is when we meet him ( ... )

Wow, this is extraordinarily intense, and yeah, I really want to watch both these shows now. Phew, HOT.

The sentence "No flowers; there's too much death in temporary beauty." made the top of my head come off. I adored the experiment/control framing of that whole episode.

And I am kind of in love with Patricia DaVinci just from that one scene. The finger-flick dick-at-the-door greeting! BWAH!

And man, Danny. Wow. *shivers* Hot and upsetting. Just--the things he does in that last section, EEK.

You are fabulous as always.

What a good friend you are, to read this when you've never seen a bit of either canon and to actually do homework to do so. Thank you, honey. I look forward to showing you both!

I'm a wee bit worried about the top of your head now, I must admit - but what a complimentary reaction to have. I haven't the vaguest idea where that line came from - that happens to me sometimes - but I'm pleased you liked it. Sunny is a love - I really like her a lot, especially in the first couple of seasons of DVI (her scene takes place right as DVI is starting, which is canonically good to know).

lamentables liked Patricia's ice-queeniness, too :-). That character is sure of herself like nobody's business (At least on the outside). Fun to write.

Danny/David OTP. And who knew I had one here?

Thank you again for reading and commenting. I really appreciate it.

Darlin', I wanted to thank you again for reading this so early in the process, particularly given that you hadn't yet seen any of the canon for either show. I really appreciated it. Hope I can keep you hooked on both!

Dearest SB - I am extraordinarily dilatory in responding to this, and I apologize for that. You can't imagine how much I appreciated your comment: because it was (and, of course, remains) from you, whose feedback and self I value greatly; and because you wrote it so early in the process, at a time when I was utterly convinced that only the recipient and I wanted this story or would ever read it. Mille grazie for all of that.

DAVID. My God. I don't want even to like the man, and yet I get sucked into his spiky judgmental aura every time I dip another toe into the show. (Doesn't hurt that I have rather a thing for Peter Outerbridge...) Part of it's competence kink, and part of it's my distressing but undeniable predilection for falling for damaged characters. But it's also just ... DAVID ( ... )

oooh... *blinks*

This is excellent and I wish I had more context for the people who aren't David. I went to imdb after I read it so I could at least see what Danny looks like -- and, whoa. It's one thing for David to be a sex magnet, but for him to get under the skin of someone who looks like nothing could ever get under his skin -- and for it only to be fucking for David, only casual. For that, the ending is freaking brilliant.

Also, this is hot beyond words and your description is amazing. Such gorgeous details. :)

Oh this is just fucking brilliant it is.

Sunny's obsessive observations completely pulled me in. That inability to turn off one's brain was rendered exactly right. And it certainly helped that her observations were so very lovely.

And, like everyone else, I fucking adored Ice Queen Patricia. Damn do I want to be that fucking badass in real life.

And Danny and David just falling the fuck apart was a thing of painful, tragic beauty.

Now I must go rewatch Regenesis because you've reminded me how very much I miss David's mastery of eyerolling snark.
