I might be certifiably insane for actually believing that I have a good chance of completing this, but nonetheless, I've decided to take a page out of bluesuzanne's book and do

i can think of eight good reasons that Gen 1 skins was better than Gen 2.

They are:

1. Tony
2. Michelle
3. Maxxie
4. Chris
5. Cassie
6. Anwar
7. Sid
8. Jal

Simple as that, the characters were just better in the first gen. by the second gen they were just doing duplicates of the same characters or hybrids of two characters and I felt no connection to any of them. i really didn't.

LOL!!! Yes! You're so right. A lot of the gen 2 characters were like hybrids of the gen 1's. Also, Freddie's death, while shocking (I honestly didn't see it coming), almost seemed like a "we need to kill someone off in order to replicate the loss of Chris in S2" cop-out. I won't say that I didn't feel connected to ANY of them (and I'll get into that in the coming days), but I definitely didn't feel connected to MOST of them like I did with Gen 1.

ITA on the gen 1 choice and the reasons.

Except that whilst I agree that Effy was more intriguing in gen 1, I thought she was brilliantly progressed in gen 2. (Up until the last two episodes ruined everything of course. Woe.)

Out of curiosity, what was the gen 2 moment that got to you? Wait, don't answer that if it's an answer to a later question.

I do agree with you about Effy's progression in Gen2. I will be spouting my opinions on that in the days to come. I was just saying that Effy was at her enigmatic, creepy best in Gen1, that's all.

And yes, I'm going to refrain from mentioning that moment, just in case I want to bring it up in later posts. If I don't, though, I'll let you know what it was. You can probably guess what it was.
