"Don't get up," her mother jokes. "I'll get it."

The woman who answers the door looks just like a grown-up Angela. Her hair is a little curlier and her nose is different than Angela's but the resemblance is still fairly strong.

"Hey," she says with a grin, answering the door, "you one of Angie's friends?"

"Oh, hi," she says. "I've been wanting to meet you. Come on in. Angie's dozing a bit, you know how sucky hospitals are to sleep in. I'm Shelly, Angie's mom."

Angie's mom answers the door again. Another boy? "Hi," she says. "I'm Angie's mom." She has a pleasant smile and a very distinct resemblance to Angela.

Another boy indeed. This boy isn't quite as nervous as Elias...okay, maybe he is, but it manifests differently? He blinks and his fingers find the strap of his bag. "Uh, hi Angela's mom. I'm Mark. Uh. A friend from school. I've got her homework assignments for the week?"

She laughs. "Shelley DeAngelis. Still getting used to the 'mom' thing." Shelley grins at him. "Thanks for bringing that. Angie's sort of bored, you want to come in?"
