It is *so* hard to go in for one thing and out again if I don't leave somebody waiting for me in the car! (Even then, sometimes.)

Love your comic exposition of the problem, though!

You and Dr. Mobius... I find this interpretation interesting! I can see it, obviously, now that I look at what I've written, but the particular pathos I was trying to convey was 'trying to avoid speaking to another person and then desperately procrastinating when it becomes clearly unavoidable'. (I only bought cocodamol!)

But I'm wondering, from an artistic point of view, how to get that across better without laboring the point? Maybe just more to show how tiny that particular pharmacy is? The whole places is the size of your average living room, and it has about one and a half shelves (shelves, not stacks) of cold medicines and painkillers, so I was worried about the pharmicist's judgement not just because of my nervous mumbling but because she'd just watched me weave through every tiny aisle in the place like goddamn Pac Man before coming to ask her for drugs I knew damn well contain a controlled substance. :-S

Whereas, because I totally do that exact thing, I read it as "desperately trying to avoid speaking to someone and then procrastinating." :P

Talking to other people is THE WORST. THE WORST.

I do that when clothes shopping, but when I'm in a pharmacy I'm all, "I'm a Sickie McSickerson and I needs me some drugs" so the anxiety isn't as bad because I'm too sick to care.

Plus I now know pharmacists and am learning to work with them, so that makes them easier to talk to. I also had an easier time approaching retail sales folks when I was working in retail, if that makes any sense (and now that I've not been in retail for a while I'm back to square one. "PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT ME, SCARY CLOTHES-SELLING LADY! I SWEAR I DON'T HAVE ANY QUESTIONS! JUST LEAVE ME ALOOOONNNNNEEEE!").

As to how to artistically convey that, maybe have a panel where you look at the pharmacist and look nervous and then turn around and suddenly find the face creams fascinating? I don't really draw or anything so I don't know how feasible that is, but maybe that makes sense?
