As for the paranoia, bearing in mind I know nothing of what's going on, there's always going to be people that won't like you. In much the same way that there are people who don't like chocolate. But people who don't like chocolate tend not too eat it, and the people that don't like you probably won't make the effort to actually talk to you. Or talk back when you talk to them. Only this is where my crappy analogy fails because, thankfully, chocolate can't eat you. Unless it's mixed with something corrosive and smeared on your skin, but then it's the "something corrosive" and not the chocolate doing the eating. But yeah. The people who talk to you like you or they wouldn't bother with you.
Unless you're giving them free chocolate. Maybe that's where it comes back in.
