Time to Say Goodbye

No doubt you will have noticed that though December is upon us, metamorfic_moon has not announced our annual Fic Advent. Indeed, you've probably noticed we've not had a proper event here since last year's Winter Hallows Advent. Though it's sad, particularly at this time of year, we your moderators feel that it's the appropriate time to announce

Siriusly, I understand people are busy and interests change, but it's just so sad to see such a great community go :( It's been a blast you guys, thanks for all you've done!

My heart will always belong to R/T so I'll still be reading and writing it as much as ever. I guess I'll just have to look harder for my fix in future :(

I know that much of the fandom has moved on, and that the mods have way too much other stuff on their plate, but this place was my first exposure to the HP fandom, and possibly the nicest corner of that fandom ever. I'll miss it like whoa. Thanks for running a great show.

Btw, will the comm stay open in an archival capacity? Or will the fics be archived somewhere else?

It's sad to say goodbye, but good to know we'll be missed here and Meta was a bright fandom experience for you. Thank goodness that LJ friendships aren't restricted to particular communities. :)

Definitely we'll keep Meta open as an archive. We'll be doing some clean-up around here eventually to make it as accessible as possible to anyone who wants an R/T fix.

This is sad news, but I'm very grateful for the years I've spent with Meta. Thanks so much to all the mods and participants who have kept it such a great community. I'm glad to hear that all the wonderful fics will remain archived.

It's so sad that comms are starting to close, but I totally get why. Thank you for the hard work you've put into this site - I wrote one of my first Potter fics for this comm, and the reception it got gave me the confidence to continue writing.
