My roommate and I went to the Regina Spektor concert at Michigan Theater on Tuesday. I am moderately acquainted with Regina's music, and while I do enjoy her music, I've never gone through a period of obsessively listening, where I know every single lyric and can recognize a song from its beginning chords. Wow, definitely thanks for writing that up. She's here in a week, and now my decision on going has changed from "no" to "maybe". It's an awkward day for me, and she's in a much bigger venue, and I only know like 3 of those songs you mentioned (though I guess I've heard everything that's on that one album). But it sounds really good, so I'll think about it some more.

I blamed you, but I probably would have rambled anyway. I think you should definitely go! There were a lot of songs I hadn't heard before from the new album, and it was still really enjoyable :)

Huge rambly concert posts are great! At least, that's what I tell myself when I write them. But I love reading yours! I want to see Regina. I haven't heard the new album except for 2-3 songs oops.
For some reason I can't imagine her with a guitar, I always think of her at a piano.

I've also had a bootleg .mp3 of Regina singing "Love, You're a Whore" for a while for some reason I'm unsure of. She says something about it seeming like an insult for her to be doing a country song in wherever she was then says "I'm from Moscow, and then the Bronx, so I get to do whatever the fuck I want." Haha it's cute.

Haha, it is for some reason super adorable for her to swear. She's just so shy and reserved otherwise. I think that's why I loved that "Someone next door is fucking to one of my songs" song so much, haha.

Yay rambly concert posts! I still have to listen to the new album legitimately. I think I'll enjoy it, based on what I heard at the show.
