On weekends.

The last two weekends (unlike the last 10 weekdays) were a good mix of relaxing vs. productive.

Last Saturday: Cleaned half of the house fairly well and had an infuriating accident. The Scooba got stuck on a welcome mat and started making unhappy noises. I was wearing my boots when I walked over to rescue it, slipped epically on its trail, and ( Read more... )

Thanks for doing all of the housework so that I could tool! The reciprocal lattice, space groups, unit cells, the Bravais lattice, and Miller Indices are making more sense now than they ever have.

I'm only 50 pages in, but I like it so far. I've been on a bit of a "high weirdness" kick lately (Perdido Street Station, Flow My Tears The Policeman Said, Neverwhere, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle...) and it works on that count while distinguishing itself with an almost Kevin Smith-esque vibe.

The sheer count of things you do in a single day never fails to amaze me. O.O

^_^

Part of it's just the fact that I wrote it all down...I'm sure if you obsessively documented an entire weekend it would look like a lot!

Though there is a part of me that always thinks, "Okay, if I can just cross everything off of my to-do list, then I can spend a whole day just reading, enjoying a nice drink, and maybe playing some video games. Someday!" The trick is that stuff keeps getting added to the list.

Also, I'm very nearly useless on weekdays (work -> maybe gym -> maybe pick something up at a store -> dinner -> check fi-uh and LJ -> bed) so my weekends are disproportionately action-packed.
