"Wasted days" is a perfect expression for the Grunge Era too! My husband and I, we still have a few old flannel shirts from back in the day, and we grew up to be professionals, parents...but I still run into some folks who never let go of the life, the existentialism.

This is so nostalgic! I was a little young for this look, but man, was I starry eyed at the time when my oldest sister captured this look, introduced me to this sound...I was molded into the kind of teen I was because of these years.

This character is someone who is going nowhere, and her present seems kind of ratty and unlovely in a lot of ways, but she is clearly perfectly happy with it. It suits her, and all this time later, she still isn't regretting a thing. That's an unusual perspective for most people her age!
