This is a wonderful love note to motherhood. It is so nice to read about your journey grounded in some heavy realities. It is so wonderful to see someone living their most authentic life.

I understand your mother's fear of not having grandchildren. Any time one of my kids brings that up (and they're both under 21), I feel a chill in my heart.

I'm glad you overcame your fear, and had kids anyway! If you love kids and enjoy being with them, I think you're missing out if you don't have your own. Some people truly don't want them, but I'm sure glad we had ours. :)

So, my kids are 11 and 13 and I'm ALREADY thinking about what fun it will be to have grandkids. I have told my children I don't care who they love - black, white, green or purple. gay, straight, whatever...as long as I get to be a grandmom, lol!
