Happy 25, Blade Runner.

Still gritty and dark and cool after all these years.

Make sure to see the director's cut, not the original version.

I'm not sure I've seen the director's cut either....or have I? Is that the one we watched? I'm so confused.

You've almost certainly seen the director's cut, because that's the one everyone sees - the original version wasn't very good, which I think is part of the reason why it tanked at the box office. The original has Harrison Ford babbling in a half-dead voice during all of the really cool flying car scenes, and it never brings up any of the cool "is he actually a replicant?" questions. The director's cut is actually a few minutes shorter, but way cooler.

I'm a huge fan of this movie; the scenery was fantastic and I loved how it combined science fiction with noir. :)

Definitely. I wish there were more sci-fi/noir mix-ups like that :) Watching The Maltese Falcon and The 5th Element back to back almost cuts it but not quite ;)

Yeah! I'm a big Blade Runner fan... William Gibson too. Great stuff, and very relevant to out times, actually.
