Spring is coming. I know this because the annual Cat Fur Tumbleweeds have begun appearing in the hallway.

I made beet pickles last night out of The Little House Cookbook. I think I've made them before. That is, I know I've made beet pickles before; I can't remember if it was this recipe. So, I'm not checking the cookbook off the project list yet ( Read more... )

You can interest me, but I think I'm involved with a fashion event that evening.

I know a jar lifter would also make my life easier, but I don't can enough to justify owning one.

Well, if you decide at some point that it would be useful, I *think* have one, and odds are I'll never use it, so you'd be welcome to it. (No, I have no clue why I got it, but Jane and I tended to accumulate kitchen equipment on spec.)

Oh, and speaking of cookbooks (I don't recall whether you're on the Laurels mailing list, so not sure whether you saw this go by), there's another Constance Hieatt book out, which looks pretty spiffy...

Re: jar lifter: thanks for the offer, but really what I meant was "I don't can enough to justify having one cluttering up my drawers." : )

Re: book: I'm not on that list, so I didn't know about the book. It looks so useful!
