i might be able to do the weekend of the 27-29 but it's right before Dragon*Con (which is labor day weekend, the next weekend) and that might be cutting it close.

hmm, I didn't know about Dragon*Con, so that's definitely something I need to consider. Thanks for the heads up!

OH MY GODDDD THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! We could like, Skype each other and be ridiculous fangirls together across 3000 miles! \o/

Did you have a preference of weekend, or would either be fine?

ps It sounds like it'd be good to have some moral support going into this, too, from what all I've heard of con-hosting

Yeah, I wish I could have it earlier, when I think more people would be out of school and able to come, but I have a french immersion thing I'm doing until the 13th, so that's out. These are the only two weekends I have free before class starts Sept 1, unfortunately.

Also, how jealous am I about having a WEEK LONG merlin con? INSANELY JEALOUS, that's how jealous. ALTHOUGH! I suppose I could see what the response for a week-long hanging out party would be like for the last few weeks in August, since I could stay for all of it...hmm, it's something (AWESOME) to contemplate, anyway.

What's with the lack of west coast merlin representation?

D:

But see the comment above yours; it seems like you may have your chance for a west coast get together too! yay!

I'd love to see a West Coast meetup, but coming from BC anywhere south of Portland is basically too far away - Tuscon is only a marginal improvement on NY! I did a trip to SF for a HP con last year & that was fun, but also really expensive & there's no way I can justify doing it again. If you get a bunch of enquiries from folks in the Pacific Northwest then it might be better to put us in touch with each other & we can try to figure something out.

I'd love to attend a Merlin con! Either weekend would be fine... but it all depends on cost and how much vacay time from work I have left by August@@; Chicago's not exactly close, but it's the most realistic destination from those choices^^; I could probably make it work.

It's all really tentative right now, but I would definitely make a concerted effort to have this be as affordable as possible so the maximum number of fangirls could come.

As for Chicago, I was thinking that would be a more popular option than it is! It seems like the east coast is looking more likely in terms of location at this point.

If I wasn't already planning a trip to New York and Boston at the end of May, then I'd say ok to either of those places... but as it stands, I've already booked my flights, so, yeahT___T

I'll just have to wait and see what happens, I guess^^;;

I am moving to Boston in August sometime; I don't know if I'll be there in time (we're driving from southern California) and also I have no idea if I'll have any money at all after that. So it's a big if. But if it's in Boston when I am, I could almost certainly make it.
