Sadly, being sick, I fell asleep before the debate started, so I missed it... but... wtf was McCain doing?

It was right at the end of the debate, when they both stood up to shake hands with the moderator. Obama shook hands first, and McCain went around that way to shake hands as well, but by then the moderator had moved to the other side, forcing McCain to head back around the other way. It was awkward. And funny.

In my hopeless quest to find virtual season tidbits, during the hiatus, I’ve been visiting various vs crew members’ Journals. I realize it is a futile exercise, but it is what groupies do ;)

Although it did lead me here and I got to read your US debate entry which I thoroughly enjoyed and wholeheartedly agree with. And as a fellow Canadian, I understand being more interested in the US campaign than our own lacklustre federal election. Even if, like many of us I suspect, I wasn’t surprised by the result - essentially changing 1 dollar for 4 quarters - I’m still disappointed. I would have liked to at least see Elizabeth May win in her riding. She impressed me a lot during the debates, especially the one in French.

I can’t wait to see how W-loving Harper will deal with Obama. I know the elections are two weeks away, but you gotta love the way things are looking right now.

I know, I can't believe Elizabeth May didn't win a single seat. Although I'm not sure why she was running in a conservative riding against Peter McKay. And I'm not at all surprised by the outcome of the election, either. I'm just glad they didn't win a majority, and I can only hope that this will spur the Liberals to choose a leader that has a little more eloquence than Dion seemed to have (perhaps Ignatieff? Or this Ruby Dhalla looks interesting...)

Sorry my journal didn't give you any more juicy tidbits on the VS (we've been sworn to secrecy, I'm afraid!) *g* But I'm glad you stopped by!

I agree the Liberals need to regroup. I don’t think Dion’s a bad guy. I believe him when he says he cares about the country and the environment. He’s just not leader material. I have a friend, of the grassy knoll persuasion, who’s convinced that Chrétien is still pulling the strings behind the scenes and that he and his minions orchestrated the whole thing, putting Dion in charge knowing full well he couldn’t pull it off, as a way of preparing the ground for Justin Trudeau. I don’t remember hearing or reading that JT had such ambition. Anyway, he’s way too young, isn’t he? I guess we’ll have to wait till next spring.

Enough about politics, there are far more important matters to address, like when the heck are Lindsay and Cindy going to get it on!? :) But seriously, it's ok. Deep down I wasn't really expecting to find vs info. You guys keeping everything in the vault is as it should be. I wanna know, but I don’t wanna know. You know? I just wish it was the 31st already. ;)

And I’m glad I stopped by, too!

Ah yes, Justin Trudeau. He does seem too young for this gig, but I had heard rumours as well. But if we're going that route, I want George Stroumboulopoulos. He's brilliant *and* kinda dreamy. (I don't mind admitting this, but I'm kinda straight for him).

All I'm gonna say about Riley's ep on the 31st is that it's gonna be a good one! (Well, they all are, obviously... but yeah).
