many highlights to a long weekend. out and about, doing bourgois things that i would usually oppose but i had fun.

• saw a wedding at the lawn of the hotel i staid
• went on a waterslide for the first time ever
• ate authentic African food
• watermelon rind salad!
• went on a rollercoaster, but never again

i am tackling the last book in The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. i'm almost embarrased to admit it, but yes. if i never read another of his books, i'll be fine, but this, i have to finish.

when i was 23 i had my wisdom molar removed from the right side of my jaw. it had grown in impacted, looking perfectly grown but on its side. it wasn't an unpleasant procedure but it was an unpleasant two weeks of a sore jaw and i could barely open my mouth for some time.

one of the most haunting things anyone has ever told me was when my mother said that for weeks after the two towers had collapsed, she could smell the bodies rotting.
