It's not the cup, it's you. Learn to use the cup that you already have, then decide whether or not you want another based on how it fits. Skim/Read this http://kuradi8.livejournal.com/ and follow the link to the Virgins Guide to Cups too.

They redesigned the Mooncup recently and I don't know if they've made the anti-suction holes around the rim bigger on the new version. If not, try enlarging them. They help with popping open and also removal.

If you can barely reach your Mooncup, then it's probably too short for you so don't be afraid of longer cups when you start shopping again. But like I said, figure out how to use the cup that you already have, THEN start looking for a new one. You'll have a better idea of what will fit/suit you then.

Moon cup is one of the former cups on the market. If you continue to have pain you may want to think about a softer cup.

The Mooncup is not only a firmer one, but it has that ginormous flared flange/rim. Even as a veteran cup user, that type of cup design looks painful to me. (That's why I'm surprised the US Keeper/Mooncup, with their similar designs and rock hard material, are even still on the market) Most other cups will have a lower profile rim and will feel better for you :)

i agree, it seems to be the shape. the body of the cup is also pretty narrow so your cervix might be kinda stuck there.

being used to penetration etc matters only for insertion and removal, not for actual wearing. i'm a virgin and i wear wide cups just fine. and this isn't that uncommon for heavy flow or low cervix.

note that mooncup sizes A and B stand for Before and After birth. counter-intuitive.

for removal, look at the videos on youtube (by melissa and others). even if you've seen them before, have another look now that you've got a cup. you're likely to see it very differently now.

Thanks for all your answers!
I tried it again today and making the airholes a little bigger really helped, I also think I was pointing in the wrong direction and tensing my muscles which made it harder.
Still need some practice but feels much better now and no pain!
TY!

I'm so glad that you made it work for you! If the pain continues, don't be afraid to try a different cup. I know I tried a firm cup once and it was not a good situation for me, haha. Also, you might have a difficult time going from a firm cup to a Meluna. I love my Melunas, but they will definitely be harder to open compared to Mooncup. But the Melunas are a lot softer. If you are interested, I will be willing to sell you a small classic Meluna since you expressed that it something you might be looking for. Just private message me :)

Yeah, I feel like these types of cups (giant rim, bad capacity, nonexistent airholes, super firm) like the Keeper/USMC/MCUK really have very limited markets, like professional athletes who are extremely petite with tightly packed organs and who enjoy a lot of sex. lol. I suppose the Keeper/USMC had a lock on the market before the Diva and Lunette came out but now that there are so many options available I'm kind of surprised these original designs are still around.

Yes.. Well I got it to work for me now at least. I think a big part of why they sell them still is that this brand was the only one I found that you buy physically in my town! Others you have to order.
