So, wait, Obama is admitting that he doesn't understand the first thing about how insurance works? And he thinks that is somehow the fault of the insurance company?
Admitting it? Never! Illustrating it? Absolutely. The greatest narcissistic the world may have ever known could not possibly be at fault.
And of course it's the fault of the insurance company. Since he was a child he has been taught by everyone around him that everything bad that ever happens is due to the evils of bitter, racist white big corporations who act stupidly.
He's an amazing idiot. I am no expert on insurance policies, but the one question anyone buying one should ask is "What does it cover me for?" The answer might be complex, but even the first part of such an answer would tell you whether it covered your damage, damage you inflicted on others, or both.
I am sure he knows exactly how insurance works, just as I am sure he made this incident up from whole cloth. He is just trying to make things as simplistic and stupid as he believes all of us are. The stupider we are, the easier it is for them to rule us.
I'm not so sure that he does know how insurance works. I am dubious about his claims to superior, or even normal, intelligence, having seen how often he's goofed spectacularly on matters of substance over the last year and few months in office. This is more than Dubya's gaffes, which were almost purely verbal ones dealing with the wrong sytnax or number of logical terms, and are explainable as a minor learning disability.
It doesn't take superior intelligence to understand the difference between liability, collision and comprehensive car insurance. Even if he didn't know about it at the time, which maybe he didn't, being a young college student and only having a crappy junker and all, he knows very well about it now, having owned houses worth millions of dollars and probably more than a few very nice cars over the years. He is using this story to make people he believes to be stupid pissed off at insurance companies. He's also trying to instill a sense of entitlement.
...perhaps he was that clueless back thenrussjMarch 13 2010, 02:19:46 UTC
It sounds like Barry is referring to a time before he attended law school. He was a college graduate before moving to Chicago to become a community organizer. He supposedly left for Harvard a few years later.

That makes his story misleading, as the true moral is his ignorance at the time. Also, I've no sympathies for anyone who has managed even a semester of college and can't understand the basics of car insurance. Less than none. They should quit and get a nice union job so tuition costs can stay low and a person with some cognitive ability can take their place.
Anyway, I believe the story is a lie AND that he was that clueless then and is now.
