You know how this series makes me feel. You know.

You capture their lives so fully that it doesn't matter what they are doing or who they are doing it with, you can see it. You can feel it because that's their life. This is their story. It's heart breaking and it's hopeful. You want these boys to survive and to be happy that they did.

You do this so very well, love. You are so good at writing. Honestly. This was beautiful in the most tragic way that beauty can be portrayed.

i shivered a dozen different ways because of this story. i was hooked from the first paragraph and i think it was because david's first reaction was to fight? because he's always had to fight back, hasn't he, even when he can't win. and yes, he's more prudent in his thoughts later and it's fight or flight, but fight first. and he always fights for nando. it's still painful to know where nando came from understand all he's been through to get to the young man he's become, who is brave enough to fight for sergio (weeps for iker!!)! and i like the little touches of iker here too. he's woven tightly into nando's own history and the two of them didn't know it. it makes the scene in the field that much more tasty*!!!!

It had become a ritual for them over the years, their own knotted-up, handmade religion.

this line kills, love. it's perfect, as are so many others, but this comment is getting way long and rambling. mostly because i really liked this.

finally, hot.

I can‘t see sex here, so I won‘t say it‘s hot. I only see two boys starving, starving not only for food but for warmth, and attention, and love, and understanding. And I really feel for Nando, because David has Iker and Fernando, but Fernando only has his brother and his brother is the entire world for him, his shelter. Those lines about how Nando feels, how he tries to be a good boy and runs home simply broke my heart. No one should go through this, ever.
