As I was making lunch yesterday, I started asking Jonah what he wanted to do for a Halloween costume. At first, I tried to convince him to do Adventure Time costumes because I thought I could throw them together with minimal sewing and a couple of trips to the thrift store. Yeah, I don't know how it's going to turn out so I'm keeping it loosely under wraps (as in not posting about it) until it's done.

And easy, it looks like! Simple T tunic gathered into a high neck with a fake hood and a zipper. I don't even think I need to mock this one up.

On the Jawa, just not sure how to do the eyes. I'm sure I could come up with something, but we'll see what he wants to do and go from there.

I think we will! It'll be lots of fun.

Hmm... I immediately had some thoughts on the eyes... I'm thinking a type of goggle setup with yellow LEDs similar to the little headlamp I have...

But way cool about him wanting to do Star Wars :) I remember my time as Luke and Vader (separate occasions). Would take some mylar sheets, color them the appropriate color, then roll them up and tape to a flashlight :) Simple, but still cool.

Hmm, might work! I'll have to see what he wants to do though. He didn't seem to lean toward the Jawa right away.

Ah, we had to have some creativity back in the day, didn't we? Now, you can go pick up a toy lightsaber just about anywhere for $10.
