You know, technically you are an American...a North American.

But you get the idiots in every group that give the few a bad name. That's all.

If American democracy actually worked the way it was supposed to, it'd be a damn good government. Unfortunately, it does not.

Nearly every US American is of immigrant heritage, too. Very few are of native heritage, and if you're something like 5 generations later, you're no longer native. True.

But a lot of what you talked about could be applied to US Americans about other countries, too. Reverse many stories, and you've got America trying to find something that is their own, their own heros, etc etc.

Good entry, though. Just not all Americans are as dumb as many outside this country believe us to be.
