Hey Blues, there's something I want to talk to you about. It's Zero. What was with him acting like that? And I think you know what I mean too, with the times you yelled at him to cut it out.
"Hn. A level of scale, I suppose -- I can't say I like the implications of full-body mimicking, but that's something else altogether. Hey, if you can find the data I say go for it."
The lab was spacious, if maybe not as neat as it could be; and despite having a few stations and widgets that didn't look immediately familiar the basic layout resembled Light's labs.
"Here? This is one of the private brainstorming labs at Light Industries."
"When I have more free time, I'll see what I can do."
"Huh, I don't recognized it. So it's either knew or it's one of those world differences. I didn't really come with anything in mind, just seeing what's changed or different. But you said something about not letting people spot us?"
"New, actually; the entire building we're in right now is a new one. Light Industries is a full-fledged research thinktank now, even if it's being kept smallish, and it needed more space."
Blues grinned.
"Well, that and the kids didn't want new people able to traipse freely through Light's personal labs. Can't say I blame them."
"As far as not letting people spot us go -- well, I can probably explain things to the rest of the horde but the average researcher here would get confused as hell if he or she saw you."
"That's great! But you couldn't move Dad's stuff to one floor and make it off limits? None of the new guys back home have been a problem; I'm guess it's a problem here?"
Getting a mischievous look and grinning at Blues, Rock chuckled. "Okay, I hope you realize that now I'm really tempted to run off and see who I can run into just to see that reaction." He wouldn't, but it was tempting.
Blues accepted the handheld with another chuckle and began skimming the specs to get a handle on just what Rock might be wanting. Just based on the younger bot's stunned reaction, he somehow was not at all surprised that he had something like this ready and waiting.
"You don't know?" He glanced at Blues, looks like someone had been keeping a rather big secret. "Well that's a rather complicated matter that I can't explain. I could recite what I've read on the topic but that's not really the same. For how I got here, teleporter of course!"
Rock couldn't come up with a response to that so didn't, merely holding onto that little bit of information for now.
Blues just shrugged and smiled; as far as he was concerned, not giving Xavier the details right away was a good thing. Didn't want him wandering off on walkabout, and all that --
For his own part, Xavier was obviously fascinated with the idea.
"A teleporter on its own could manage to travel across dimensions? That's amazing! What brought you here?"
Better a walkabout then getting dumped somewhere by chance one day, if you asked Rock.
"Ones that are built for that sort of thing, sure," he laughed. "And Blues gave me the coordinates. He's been helping me with some stuff back home and I guess I'm just clingy enough for him to show me around here."

Either one is fine with me.

Was that a bit of hopefulness in the text, it might be.

I'll show you what I can without the munchkins spotting us --

Rock teleported to the coordinates he'd used last time and glanced around for Blues or anything else of interest.

"Had the idea in your head for a while, mm?"

Moving over to a small terminal mounted on one of the walls, Blues copied over the bike specs. Then he handed back the handheld to Rock.
"No problem. Do you want to pick it up here, or should I drop it off?"
Reply
"Could you drop it off please? If I'm not the on to bring it home, Roll can't get mad at me."

"Parallel universes? Honestly? How does it work, then; how did you get here --?"
[Our major problem in this era is a prototype of Quint.]
Blues left off any other comment for the moment; he figured that said a good deal on its own.
