With eyes completely open but nervous all the same

As we've started home hunting online, we've come to realize that we'd REALLY rather a nice little rental house or duplex or something. No more apartments if we can avoid it. We've found some really nice possibilities - much bigger than this place AND smoke free at scary nice prices!- but some seem a little too good to be true so my folks will ( Read more... )

Gallstones are awesome.

And by awesome, I mean they suck so hard. I had my gallbladder removed and now I have digestion problems.

But I still eat things with fat in 'em anyway because they are tasty. I just suffer afterwards.

Try a low-fat diet if you can in the meantime, see if that helps?

That's why I'm not entirely sure it is a gallstone...

A neighbor said my symptoms (bad heartburn at night and in the morning when I wake up often accompanied by nausea. Even if I don't eat anything for hours before. I often take Pepto Bismal and/or heartburn meds to go to sleep.) sounded like when she had a gallstone. But I get mixed messages from the internets.

But when I looked it up later, it sounds a lot more painful than what I have. No abdominal pain and fevers described with gallstone "attacks". So I just don't know... I've always had a delicate tummy and digestion problems, which seemed to get a bit better after I stopped eating beef. But recently the morning heartburn/nausia is my new alarm clock and it's a pretty crappy way to get up in the morning.

Does that sound at all like what you had/have? I really do need to and intend to change my diet some more either way.

Hmmm, well gallstone symptoms vary a LOT. The kicker for me was pain combined with nausea; my surgeon said the nausea was a red flag for gallstone issues. My pain wasn't technically in the right "place" for gallstones, but ennervation varies a lot. Heck some people get pains all the way up their back when the culprit is their lower abdomen. Damn hard to diagnose when the pain's in the wrong spot ( ... )

Thank you! It helps to have an idea. I get nauseous really easily in general so I tend to not pay it too much attention to it. It's just been on the excessive side lately.

I always ask people with experience before doctors, because in my experience doctors never listen anyway and I want to go in armed with some info. Another reason I want to wait to deal with it till Colorado; our doctors here in Phoenix make even getting a simple UI taken care of a pain.

I definitely need to get whatever the hell this is taken care of eventually, I've had it for ages. Course I also had bronchitis for 4 months before I finally went to the doctor, I have issues. :P

In the meantime, I will try to cut out the fat as much as possible... or just drink Pepto with dinner. We'll see depending on how stressed I am. Thankfully I'm not a fan of spicy food either. <3 fats, spicy no. I'm quite sure the addiction to rocky road icecream does not help. I do have a sneaking suspicion though that if I dropped pounds it would help my symptoms a lot.

Yup, it's official! If we renew the lease it will be *wince* month by month. But we are NOT staying long, we are done and my family wants us up there BAD. :D We feel loved!

I think that the majority of renters' pet policies are to ensure that you don't have something like 7 incontinent Great Danes running around ; ) I would think that bunnies and aquariums would be a sigh of relief for most renters (I mean, cats can be pretty darn destructive if they want to). Plus you could always offer an extra damage deposit to see if that helped sway anyone that was like "well, I don't know..."

Good luck with the search! : )
