Author: Devera
Title: No Shelter (Challenge #10 - Resignation)
Rating: PG
Words: 550 approx

Summary: That's life in the Pegasus Galaxy for you.

Note: Deliberately no mention of the actual event/issue, so could be set anywhere in S2/S3... I was kind of (unsuccessfully) playing with mood and metaphor. Hope this isn't too late!

Love the way your described Rodney's anger as a building storm!

Thanks! It was hard to get that spark happening in under 500 words (1st draft was more like 800...)!

Right! You kind of have to let Rodney get wound up before it really gets good!

Oh, and I wanted to mention - answers to the challenges aren't bound by the 500 word count. (I am one of the biggest violators of the mcshep-let)

Oh they aren't? Okay, I'll keep that in mind, but actually I've been suffering from long term writers block in another fandom, so limiting myself hard is a good exercise for me.

You did a great job showing mood here. Wonderful descriptions of the stages of Rodney's anger. Enjoyed this!

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was really trying to push that mood aspect so I'm glad it worked.

That was lovely :)

I thought your metaphor worked quite nicely. They do both have to weather the storm of the decisions John has to make and Rodney's inevitable reaction.

"I think it's working," he manages, when Rodney finally draws back. "Wanna keep trying?"
That was so sweet.

Thank you very much for your challenge answer! I have added your name to the author tags.

Yays I have a tag! \(^__^)/

Thanks very much! I'm glad you liked it. The application to the theme was possibly a bit obtuse but apparently that's usually how I approach most challenges...
