I have been thinking very often lately that I would *really* like a John and Rodney meet in Antarctica story. I'm unlikely to write it myself, because--leading to the second part of your question--I don't really write for myself, in the sense that yay, writing is fun!

As for who I do write for--I'm definitely writing for an audience, though not individuals or recipients. In other words, say I get carolyn_claire for sga_santa, and she says she wants a John/Rodney story with bunnies. Then she will by all means get a John/Rodney story with bunnies--however I will not be combing your LJ for hints of what kinds of stories you like and trying to tailor it to *you*. I *will* be writing the best John/Rodney story with bunnies I can in my own style and trusting that I'm a good enough writer that you and a wider audience that you will like it. Does that make sense?
