I suppose technically but I took it more as "formula pop songs" which is what he says. But perhaps he doesn't like pop songs, although he likes Gaga. So you know, taste is subjective and etc.
That’s what we do - take the formula for a pop song and kind of twist it and make something ugly beautiful.
Sort of. Taking the formula for a pop song and twist it to make it beautiful. So take something that maybe he doesn't like or is a generic beat or rhythm and change it into something he does. So yes, I guess so. Not really surprising Frank isn't fond of pop music.
IDK I love pop music so I disagree with him there. But tastes are different for everyone.
Sort of! It’s a rip on anyone repeatedly telling you to do what you don’t want to do. It just so happens that that can be the context that people pull out of it. It’s not necessarily a dig at Twilight, it’s just a dig at a nagging. It’s a dig at someone nagging at you
you mean gerard? he's just talking and making shit up. although the band has stated that it's not entirely about twilight, but about doing something that you don't want to and have to deal with the constant asking and not leaving you alone when you already said no 7654567 times. i can relate to that in my live, actually and i think most people do too.
No. Ray, Frank and Gerard have all specifically called out Twilight as being something they dislike and the song being about that. Yes, there's obviously a broader concept as well but it also IS about Twilight and not wanting to be involved in something they dislike. It covers two things at once.
I think, essentially, the song takes their frustration at being pushed to do a song for the movie and uses it as a vehicle to protest against being forced to do anything that you do not want to do.
It's based on Twilight, Gerard has much ~fatherly disapproval of Twilight and its sex-selling ways, but that is not the message that the song is centered around, and that is not how it necessarily needs to be interpreted.

That's not what your bandmate's say, Mikey. But points for being somewhat diplomatic (even though you don't need to be).
